Thank you to our generous and dedicated catechists who donated their time and talent to teach our students during the two weeks of Summer Study, 2019. We could NOT have done it without you! We served over 230 children in the Elementary summer program with 37 catechists and aides, including several parents who stepped into the breach when I needed an emergency sub or someone to watch a classroom until a catechist arrived. Thank you! Thanks to all of you!
St. Mary Magdalene hopes to offer our popular "CCE Summer Study" sessions this coming summer of 2020. This is an intensive two-week program which meets every weekday night from 6:30 to 9 PM and covers a year's worth of religious education in these two weeks. Two lessons are taught each night. ***Due to COVID-19, we await guidelines from the Archdiocese on dates and options for CCE.***
PLEASE NOTE: Fr. Felix wants to best serve our parishioners and is therefore limiting CCE Summer Study to registered parishioners ONLY. If you receive envelopes in the mail or if you give online, you are a registered parishioner. Register as a parishioner online via this LINK. You must be registered as a parishioner for six months to be included in the Summer Study program. Please call the church office at 281-446-8211 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, if you are not sure if you're registered as a parishioner here. Bring one of your offering envelopes to the CCE Registration Event. **The church office is not open due to COVID-19 restrictions.**
In 2020, the Summer Study session dates have yet to be determined due to the restrictions of COVID-19. Guidelines for Summer Study: If you complete both weeks with fewer than three (3) class absences, then you have completed one year of CCE, which means six lessons since two lessons are taught each night. Children may take one week of Summer Study and a half-year of the school-year CCE to satisfy one year of religious education. This is especially important for children preparing to receive their sacraments!
Elementary parents MUST park their vehicle and walk their Kinder - 5th Grade students into the building for class at 6:30 PM and MUST park their vehicle and retrieve their children from class at 9 PM. Elementary students will NOT be permitted to leave their classroom without a parent or guardian. Your child's safety is our primary concern. Thank you for helping us to protect your child.
Classes for Elementary students will be held in the two-story Education Building (the Catholic day school). Classes for older students will be held in the St. Paul Center. You receive a campus map when you register your child for Summer Study CCE.
