MINISTRY GOALS

The goal of the Prayer Quilt Ministry is to provide lap quilts to members of the parish and community for the purpose of comforting them in a time of need.

In our first 4 1/2 years of service, our Prayer Quilt Ministry has sewn over 450 quilts and 100 fleece blankets.

MINISTRY MEMBERS

All members of St. Mary Magdalene and our community are invited and encouraged to participate in our Ministry.

Do I need to know how to sew?

No experience necessary.  Members of the ministry are here to help you learn.   Come join us for the fellowship all the while helping the community.

MEETING SCHEDULE

The Prayer Quilt Ministry meets the first and third Monday evenings of the month from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in St. Mary’s Hall.

QUILTS AND PROJECTS

Classes are given to introduce all aspects of quilting and to introduce new quilting techniques and quilting patterns.

We will walk you through the basics of quilting from purchasing fabrics, reading a pattern, cutting fabric, piecing your quilt, and finally assembling your quilt.  Once you’ve learned the basics, which are very easy, you’ll want to learn more.

Other related classes are scheduled throughout the year.
